So I just got back from a 9 day trip to Santiago Chile and Buenos Aires Argentina. I had this post ready to go when I was there but had some technical difficulties so here is the re-post.
This is what I wore when I went for drinks with my sisters. Easy change up, just added accessories and heels. I love a quick change.
Shoes - Boutique 9 (old), Accessories - Joe Fresh, necklace is new
Over the next week or two, I will be posting pictures from my trip, what I wore, ate, products I used etc.
Today I am home and sick!! My two year old does not understand why I can't play with him. Good to be back and in the real world.

Urban Cowgirl
When I visited my sister Rosie in Japan, with my best friend Christina, the one thing I knew I was going to buy was anything Burberry Blue Label. Blue Label is only available in Japan and I wanted to treat myself. So when I tried on a flannel button down with their iconic plaid I was sold. It fits great and has washed well over the last year and a half. I also wanted these amazing boots that Christina bought but the sales girls literally laughed at me when I asked for my size. They were polite about it but still laughing (one was looking at me in horror, not sure which is worse).
Jeans - Paige, Shoes - Tory Burch, Bracelets - Links of London
Pants - Joe Fresh, Belt - Ann Taylor (old), Shoes - Jimmy Choo, Bracelet - Coach (old), Necklace - Joe Fresh
When I tuck it into my jeans and put my Tory Burch belt with it I hear the song "Rhinestone Cowboy" playing in my head. Wanting to be a bit versatile, and not just an urban cowgirl, I also style it for dressier occasions.
Now if I could only find a Burberry Trench with proper fitting sleeves for myself.

Manicure - Go Girl
I have horrible nails, they constantly split and break. When I would get a manicure the polish would usually only last a few hours before the first chip. So when Shellac arrived onto the manicure scene it was life changing - like I saw the face of the manicure god. I swear by it, my manicure lasts a good 10 days (after that it starts looking a big rough) and my nails grow. Some women have complained that it damages their nails, so be warned.
I prefer the Shellac brand while Gelish is a good second. Gelish is harder to take off and my manicurist puts three coats on so the colour is more intense and seems to stay on longer.
I think I found the perfect pink - "Go Girl" by Gelish. Very soft without being too pastel. A great neutral!

LTS Pink Dress
When I look at my dresses the vast majority have the same silhouette: defined waist, fitted and to the knee. It's what looks good on me. I have ventured out of my comfort zone with some success but I always come back to that look. It is boring but it always works. I really want to wear those long sleeved short dresses but I don't have the legs (that's why I NEVER wear them).
So here is my favourite silhouette in a fantastic colour - pink.

So yesterday I posted a few pictures of me in black and today I am featuring the same top with a little change up because isn't that how we dress in the real world?
Top - Ann Taylor, Jeans - Paige, Shoes - Tory Burch, Bracelets - Coach (old), gifted, Necklaces - Avon (blue), PuhNash (not sure brand)

The 90s Called
So I answered, and honoured them by wearing all black. Who remembers wearing all black when going out? Going to Le Chateau or Costa Blanca (that was the place when you were visiting from Windsor and in Toronto) and picking out that perfect black dress, black skirt, black pants or black top with the right black shoes or black boots? Just flip through your old photos and count how many people were in colour? Crazy! Then every salon, restaurant and clothing store carried the trend and made their staff dress in all black. The poor Goths, all us "happy" people were stealing their signature colour.
So after I paid homage to THE trend of the 90s I decided to add some colour using this fun beaded necklace. There was not enough texture in the outfit to leave the jewelry neutral.
It's all about this necklace. I love this necklace. It also comes in fuchsia.
I have had lots of people stop me and ask where I got it. When I answer they look at me in disbelief. I really enjoy that.
This top is so simple that it showcases jewelry perfectly. It may still be available online.
Top - Ann Taylor, Pants - Joe Fresh, Shoes - Jimmy Choo, Bracelets - Coach (old), Gifted
Necklace - Avon
Yup Avon.
It is very substantial and looks fantastic, a good friend of mine ordered one for herself after seeing mine.
Here's my Avon Lady's e-mail address - avonadvantage@rogers.com. Just tell her I sent you.

This is Me
"Peplum - Short overskirt that is usually attached to a fitted jacket, blouse or dress"
Wikipedia
This is my favourite new trend. Why? Because to me it says "feminine", and I love being a woman. The overskirt detail highlights the smallest part of me and hides any overhang that birthing four children has resulted in. What's not to love?
This blouse also hits another trend polka dots, plus, I enjoy a red, white and blue colour combo.
Another great thing is I paired this blouse with red denim...thinking about my green pants too...maybe too much...I do have white...then there are the skirt options...
I feel pretty and that's another reason why I love peplum.
My youngest just fell over in his little play car. I am trying not to make a big deal of it...Okay I am lying... I am trying not to laugh at him.
Blouse - H&M, Pants - Joe Fresh, Necklace - Joe Fresh, Shoes - BCBG (old)
This outfit captures who I am, I know it sounds bizarre but don't we all have a few favourite outfits that we feel the most like ourselves in? This is me.
The best thing about this outfit is that the pants, blouse and necklace combined cost less than the shoes...honestly!
I forgot the bracelets...again...next time...

Stripes - Mix and Match
When we purchase an article of clothing I think the end goal is to be able to wear it with multiple items in our closet. I'm not saying I always do that, but again that's the end goal. So here is another striped top styled with two different bottoms. I've already attained my goal and it's not even lunch.
Just remember that navy is a great neutral and can be paired with so many different colours - try green, yellow or even pink. The possibilities are endless.
If I was wearing Khakis I would be very East coast.
When layering it is always a nice touch to have the cuff of a button down shirt fold over the layering top. Just looks finished.
Back view, yeah! Saggy jeans just make your butt look bigger, why do that to your butt? I'm no JLo, now these jeans have great pocket placement and are a very slimming dark denim.
Pearls just seem to dress up this outfit, great for a casual Friday at work. Pair it with heels, great bag and you can go to lunch with the girls or even a nice dinner.
Folding the jeans makes the outfit look more casual. If I unfold the jeans add heels and a red clutch (any colour will do) I would be ready to go out. Outfit takes you from day to night.
Striped shirt - Club Monaco, Button down - Ann Taylor, Red Jeans - Joe Fresh, Blue Jeans - Adriano Goldschmied, Shoes - Cole Haan, Necklace - Le Chateau

Pinterest Inspiration - Stripes & Coloured Denim
If you ever want to predict success in technology or social media just ask me, then do the exact opposite of what I tell you.
Here are a few examples why:
Cell phones with cameras? Waste of money.
Every cell phone has a camera because we can no longer live without them.
Twitter? People will get bored of it and it will be like My Space.
I have a Twitter account and over a billion tweets a day are written, a billion a day!
Facebook - A place that I can see how people are doing from high school, university but nothing special.
How many billions is that thing worth?
Now Pinterest - I thought it would be a complete waste of time. Again WRONG. I have to say it is becoming my favourite.
What is Pinterest?
So now if I like an outfit I see on the net I just "Pin It" and it is automatically placed on my virtual pinboard. It's all in one easy location and I don't have to wonder where I saw this or where I found that. Two of my favourite "Pinners" are Suzana and Renee and they have shown me what is possible. Renee pinned an outfit that I loved and I have all the pieces so I recreated the look...but not the pose...darn sun in my eyes.
Blazer - Cassis, Jeans - J Brand, Top - Banana Republic, Shoes - Tory Burch, Bracelets - Links of London
I am not sure where the original picture came from...anyway, happy pinning!

Pinterest is a Virtual Pinboard.
Pinterest lets you organize and share all the beautiful things you find on the web. People use pinboards to plan their weddings, decorate their homes, and organize their favorite recipes. Best of all, you can browse pinboards created by other people.
Browsing pinboards is a fun way to discover new things and get inspiration from people who share your interests.
