Mundane Mondays - Nautical Ease

The Mundane is back and it's always easy, because its Monday and I have a sick child at home with me.

Blue and white is easy summer dressing. I know some will see the white jeans and think "four kids and white what a disaster!!". Sometimes it is, but I like to wear them so I don't mind. I am always doing laundry so one more pair of jeans is not going to make a difference for me. If I know we are having pasta or pizza I will dress accordingly but I don't let having kids stop me from wearing my favourite articles of clothing. Anyone else agree?

My life has been taken over by soccer (football for all those outside Canada and the U.S.), so I'm praying that my Croatian team (AJMO VATRENI) makes it to the next round, they play today and I am already nervous and nauseous.

I love seeing a sea of checkers!

Hoping your week is off to a great start (we'll see how I am after the game)!

Mint Denim

I FOUND THEM!!! So excited enough writing and reading, here are the pictures...

It took me a while to find these mint jeans and I had lots of help - thanks Ana, Rosie, Didi and Suzana - for all your suggestions. Ended up finding these at Sherway Gardens, I just couldn't venture out of my comfort zone.

The outfit was actually inspired by Didi, she was wearing mint and lace so I copied her. I hope you approve.

For all my ladies who are saying they can't do this trend, if you enjoy it, go up a size or even two in the pastels. They are not forgiving but once you get the right size they do look amazing. These jeans are a mid-rise with four way stretch, the mid-rise was key for me. Plus for all my tall girls the inseam is 35 inches! I can wear them as pants not capris!

Gold is the way to go with this soft palate, its warm against the ivory lace and mint denim.

I take most of the pictures on my driveway with my son helping me, us women are great at multi-tasking.

These shoes are as old as dirt (sorry Jane) and I love wearing them. With the pastel trend I love nude shoes, black I find too harsh. Pastel shoes would be fun and just kick it up a notch.

If anyone has any questions or post suggestions please feel free to comment here or get in touch with me on Facebook. For the reader who asked about other working girl outfits I will post more over the coming weeks. "Ask and you shall receive"

Thanks for all the kind words about my blog, especially Scott and Sanka!

Blue & Green - Again

I can't help it when I like something, I just like it to death...proof here and here and now again with this post. I can't be the only one...right?

I originally wore this outfit without a belt and then when I saw the pictures I promptly went indoors and added one. The top picture looks sloppy and the bottom one polished. I really needed Rosie to help me out!!

For My Working Moms

I love pencil skirts and I think all working girls (get your head out of the gutter if its gone there) should own one good pencil skirt regardless of their size. Black, navy or grey are the basics and then after that whatever colour you want!

Simple colour blocking and I added pattern with the shoes...yes I dropped my keys.

These are the first pair of leopard print shoes I ever owned. Oh how far I've come...

Mundane Monday - Neon Lights

I am a child of the 80's so I remember neon...and I liked it! It's back so I decided a nice yellow neon skirt from Ann Taylor was a fun and affordable way to try out this trend. I've styled it very simply and then changed up the accessories and shoes so you could wear it for lunch with your girlfriends or a casual Friday night. Enjoy!

Easy outfit for running errands or running around with the kids. I like the zipper detail on one side of the skirt.

Going out with the girls or casual night out with a few quick accessory additions and changing your shoes. Easy dressing at its best!

Best of Me - Coach Blazer

I love this Coach blazer. It just screams IVA, pretty obnoxious but it can't help it...

Paired with denim, a pencil skirt or over a simple blue dress, it just makes the outfit. Casual, formal or somewhere in between. It just does it all.

The shoes are the fun part of this outfit, leopard and the lady...

Bridal Shower Chic

Today I had the pleasure of attending the bridal shower of a close family friend. Everything was perfect and the future bride radiated happiness. I had a chance to catch up with friends and family that are scattered across the southern part of the province and share a special day with a beautiful woman.

This is what I wore...

I've been out of the corporate world for a very long time, however, with a closed toe nude shoe, a jacket or cardigan and I'm sure you could wear this to work.

These are my favourite shoes, they are comfortable and stylish. The platform is the key.

When you purchase a good handbag it is never out of fashion. My husband bought me this Furla bag in Croatia almost 8 years ago as a "I'm sorry I'm leaving you and our newborn daughter so I can travel Croatia with your parents and sister and have a great time" present. I may not pull it out every year, however, it is as stylish now as it was back then.

The colour is what makes the bag the statement piece of the outfit. Navy and avocado just work.

Some may be wondering if you can mix metallics, I just did and it worked great - silver, rose and gold tones are all neutrals and nothing is over powering.

Another reason I love these shoes - it goes with the avocado handbag and the navy skirt. Just fades away and plays a great "supporting role".

Hoping everyone had a great weekend, I know Tina probably had one of the best!

Back to Reality - Blazers & Denim

No more soaring temperatures. Morning was nice and fresh and the afternoon has been beautiful, dressing accordingly.

I purchased a new tripod from Henry's so the pictures I take are/will be better! No more cheap tripod and 3 big toy buckets (the cheap tripod is not tall enough so I had to balance it on the toy buckets, professional is my middle name) outside trying to get a few decent shots. That in combination with the remote control timer has changed my blogging life.

I think this look could work for Casual Fridays at the office, just change the sandals for a nice nude pump or ballet flat.

When you are taking pictures with your two year old you don't catch the fact your bra straps are showing or that bit of stray hair...I need Ana or Rosie!!

Heat Wave - Banana Republic Shorts

Its been hot in Toronto - I am wondering what happened to spring? I'm not the only one, the weather has become the top news story for many in Toronto and southwestern Ontario. I'm not complaining (it's supposed to end tomorrow) just enjoying the little gift we've been given.

This summer I'm going to try and enjoy wearing shorts. I don't know about you but I haven't enjoyed wearing shorts for a long time. I'm usually wearing Lululemon capri's when I'm with my kids or skirts and dresses. Shorts look so cute this year (and last year too) so I've decided I'm joining the fold. This last week has given me the opportunity to test out the trend. I like it...but am still not sure how many pairs I'll be purchasing.
