Chunky Knits & Banana Republic

I've been glued to my television trying to understand the tragedy in Sandy Hook. I've prayed and mourned for the families affected and have been hugging my children tight. Everything else has seemed so trivial. Life will get back to normal especially with the Christmas holiday season in full swing, however, a piece of the American nation has changed.

Just updating the blog with these pictures from my blog swap with Ana from The Suburban Peasant

These necklaces are designed and created by my friend Maya from Urge to Splurge. Maya graciously gifted the eternity necklace to me and I just had to have the aqua one. I really love how delicate Maya’s pieces are and how I can wear them with everything.

Stepford Wife

Sometimes I get into these moods when I'm picking out my clothes, I pick out a uniform or a costume. Today I am channelling my inner Stepford wife. I love this cardigan from H&M (not a big fan of their disposable fashion, it goes back to fit and being six feet tall), its part or their baroque line. The coral colour and the rhinestone buttons are what attracted me to it in the first place. In the store they had paired it with brocade pants in gold and coral. I loved the pants, I just wouldn't wear them because of my "lifestyle" plus they would be too short on me. I'm pretty sure that Avril from Schoolgate Style tried them on and she looked fab.

Anyway back to being a Stepford wife...certain cardigans say perfect suburban wife and this one was screaming it when I paired it with my jeans. I felt like my name should be Bitsie or something and I was going to make sure that my home was the epitome of perfection for my man. Hahaha! It's fun to play make believe.

Now the question becomes tucked or untucked?

This cardigan is great but it likes to ride up because of my height. So for me I prefer something underneath. Just a cautionary tale.

Hooking up with Transatlantic blog for WIWW!

One more thing...I still need your votes. I made it through to the top 25 and I'd like to try and reach the top 15. If you can please vote by clicking here or on the badge that says Circle of Moms. Last time I checked I was #19, you can vote once every 24 hrs. Once the voting is done I will stop posting this annoying message. Thanks!

Rain Rain Go Away...

The rain has been following me, on Thursday it escorted me to Windsor...it even made an appearance  in Las Vegas...and then gave me some more wet kisses in Detroit this morning. The weather has not been very summer like these last several days so I've had to dress accordingly. However, just because it's been grey outside doesn't mean I have to dress dreary, so a pop a colour is what I was sporting. The colour of the season is orange so I did my fashion duty and bought something orange, a beautiful light weight knit top. The best thing about this top (besides the colour and boxy cut) is it is transitional - great for summer and fall.

In these pictures I wore little heels, not great for wet weather, but there was no way I was putting on rain boots. I do not understand why I was so adamant about the constricting foot wear. My feet are just not ready to be covered I guess.

Guest Model - Jodie Part 2

When Jodie and I went shopping we found this amazing blazer from Zara. I thought the colour, Navy Blue, was perfect for her and knew it would be versatile. When I came over to do the shoot I wanted to show her how many tops and colours she could easily wear with this blazer. Today we are only featuring 3, you get the idea...

Jodie wanted to know about jewelry with this outfit. I told her that she could add the ring with its purple centre and it would not be competing with the yellow. It compliments it quite nicely.

Guest Model - Jodie

Every Wednesday morning I have the pleasure of being part of the most amazing and supportive mother's group - MumVet. If you are interested in being a member this September and live in the Toronto area (or close by) click here. I've made many friends and forged some that will be long lasting. One such friendship is with a woman named Jodie, super mother of two beautiful girls.

She agreed to do a guest model spot and I will be featuring her today and tomorrow.

The weather has been amazing in Toronto, so why the pants and blazer? Mornings have been a bit cool so the blazer is easy to shed as the day gets warmer.
